Just to the south of Silver Falls State Park the impact of the 2020 Beachie Creek Fire can still be seen from Wagner Road.
The South Falls are bustling with visitors. This popular site at the northwest end of the park was not impacted by the fire.
Isaiah Schacher serves the Silver Falls community as a Park Ranger Assistant, answering visitors' questions and protecting the land.
Last year, Silver Falls State Park had 1.18 million visitors.
About 150 yards from the parking lot, visitors can overlook South Falls, a 1,218 foot waterfall.
Bright autumn colors light up the state park.
The wet climate that Schacher mentioned is apparent on the base of trees and rocks where moss flourishes.
